What’s the contest about

Take a photo featuring an animal and a book.

It can be your pet, a stuffed animal, a drawing, or even an animal you meet on a walk. You may appear in the photo if you like.

Each photo must include a short anecdote or imaginary story written in French, related to the animal.

👉 You can get help from a teacher, friend, family member, or even artificial intelligence. The goal is to have fun and let your imagination run free!

A collective exhibition, without competition

All photos will be showcased:

  • Online, on Fransk kulturhus’ website and social media,
  • And during a festive in-person event at Fransk kulturhus, on August 12, 2025, open day.

👉 No ranking or voting: the main goal is to share a joyful collective moment, highlight everyone’s imagination, and let all talents shine.

A project to enjoy solo, in class, with family or in groups

This contest isn’t just for individuals – it’s a great opportunity for collective projects in many settings:

📚 At school – simple and motivating

Teachers can run the contest:

  • As a stand-alone activity, easy to organise,
  • Or as a cross-disciplinary project with colleagues (French, art, music, science).

It’s a fantastic way to encourage creative writing, teamwork, and student pride in contributing to a collective exhibition.

💬 No need for group registration: each student (or group) can submit individually.

📖 In libraries and book clubs

Librarians and club leaders can use the contest to:

  • Host creative workshops,
  • Extend story hours,
  • Offer a fun holiday activity.

It’s a chance to highlight local talent, bring reading spaces to life, and connect with a major event.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 In families, across generations

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles: enjoy a fun, bonding moment together.

No need for perfect French – the goal is to have fun, create together, and share memorable moments.

🎉 In associations, clubs, and after-school activities

In cultural, sports or creative associations, or AKS, the contest is a great way to:

  • Spark creativity,
  • Build team spirit,
  • Explore French in a playful, welcoming way.

💬 Groups can participate together or encourage members to submit their own entries.

How to participate?

Please provide:

  • First name,
  • Category (barneskole, ungdomsskole, VGS, other),
  • Photo title,
  • Your story.

The most important part

Taking part means joining a collective adventure, seeing your work displayed alongside others, and discovering the joy of playing with images and words.

It’s an invitation to dream, invent, and share – on your own, in a group, or as a family.
