On May 30, come hear and discover new poems, a subtle blend of Norwegian and French!
We look forward to welcoming the following artists:
Kristine Begot: “I lived in the Paris suburbs for two years and in Toulouse for more than five years. I moved for love and returned home after the breakup. The period surrounding the breakup is described in poetry in my current collection, “Gjenfødt som en snøklokke,” in which all the poems are written in Norwegian and the titles in French. I often present poems about different scenes in Oslo and have published three novels. My fourth novel will be published in November.”
Hanna Elise Frislid: “Ever since I was little and on vacation in France, I’ve felt like France has been my second home. So when I had the opportunity, at the age of 16, I went on an exchange to the charming village of Chambolle-Musigny while I attended a small high school nestled among the vineyards of Burgundy. Since then, I return to different regions of France almost every year and continue to read French books and listen to French music. I am always enchanted by the French way of being, their communication style, their culture, their nature, and their language. I always feel like I’m coming home when I’m back in France.
As a poet, I strive to capture beauty and emotions with words and to be able to speak about inner states. I have written and performed slam poetry on nine different stages in Oslo more than 30 times in the last year and a half. And I write poems on various themes at the same time, for several poetry collections.”
Sidsel Juell Theisen: “I grew up in a family where part of my education consisted of learning French. I lived in Nantes for a year. I discovered and fell in love with slam poetry eight years ago, and it’s my joy, my therapy, and my way of being creatively present in relationships, in the world, in life. I love slam rhymes, which are different from classic rhymes. I love slam as rhythm and music, when it gives voice to the mute and the voiceless.”
