During the October-December session, Gilles invites you, as part of the French literature course, to enter the special world of the Prix Goncourt-winning novels. How was the Prix Goncourt created? How are the winners chosen? What are the most emblematic novels in the history of the Prix Goncourt? And who are the favorites for the Goncourt 2023?

With the help of reports, press articles and book extracts, you will know everything about the most prestigious award in French literature. You will also participate in discussions and written production exercises specially designed for this course.

Throughout the 8 weeks of course, you will read the novel “Vivre vite” by Brigitte Giraud (Flammarion), Prix Goncourt-winner 2022. A moving book which emphasizes the feeling of mourning through the dramatic banality of a road accident. A true work of introspection, intimate and powerful, which speaks to all sensibilities.
