In August, our French literature course will focus on French science fiction! Through the analysis of the latest book by award-winning author Laurent Gaudé (2004 Prix Goncourt), we will discuss the specificities of French science fiction.
We will study the style, structure and rhythm of the novel, while our students will participate in writing, reading and discussion activities around the book and its meaning.
The novel “Chien 51” by Laurent Gaudé was published at the end of 2022; well received by the press as well as by the French-speaking public, the book tells the story of a police officer in a dark and relatively near future, a future in which certain countries are the property of private companies.
